Gratitude Is Most Important When You Don’t Feel Like It - HI. I'M ED.

Shit!

That sums up my week – a shit entree with two sides of extra shit.

To start off, I haven’t seen my kids in over 3 months due to shelter-in-place and I don’t want to risk my kids getting sick because of my selfishness of trying to fly on a plane with 150 strangers.

If that wasn’t bad enough, last week, my car received some damage through a very unique situation that I won’t get into now.

To put a cherry on top of this shit buffet, today a lady backed into my car door causing more damage.

Shit.

I’m not feeling particularly grateful right now, but I have to keep things in perspective.

Things can always be worse – and is much worse for many people.

I will be grateful.

I am grateful!

For:

  • My kids being healthy
  • My family
  • Having a job to go to tomorrow
  • Bills are paid
  • Food on the table
  • I am alive
  • I’m living (different than being alive)

“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.” – Buddha
